The Samsung Infuse 4G sets records for screen size and thinness, but some other specs fall short of its supersized reputation.

You can accuse Samsung of a lot of things, but it knows how to keep up with trends. The electronics maker just took the wraps off the Infuse 4G on May 5, and as of May 15, it’s officially available on AT&T. This isn’t just another Android phone, though. At 4.5 inches diagonally, the Infuse has a larger screen than almost any phone on the market and Samsung also claims it is thinner than the iPhone 4, making it the leanest phone in the United States. Couple that with 1080p video recording and the ability to install apps outside of the Android Market and we’ve got ourselves a hot ticket. But do the details match the headlines?

iPhone '4S' possible, but with no 4G

If you had your heart set on an iPhone with 4G LTE, the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 5 might not be for you. The good news is that the next version is still set to get a few enhancements and end up on more carriers.

That's according to a research note by Jefferies & Company analyst Peter Misek, picked up by Forbes, which claims Apple's next iPhone won't sport LTE hardware from Qualcomm because the chipmaker "is currently not achieving yields sufficient for inclusion in the iPhone 5."

First preview of ZTE Skate talks 4.3-inch screen, 250 euro price

The first preview of the ZTE Skate is out – the phone is slated to be the successor of extremely popular Blade and offers some enticing specs. The Skate runs vanilla Android 2.3 Gingerbread and packs a 4.3” WVGA hscreen.
That’s quite an increase from the 3.5” of the Blade, but that seems to be the direction that the high-end droids are headed in. The rumored price for the ZTE Skate is between €200 and €300, with the golden mean of €250 being cited as the most likely price point.<--!more-->

Here’s what that kind of cash would net you – an 800MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, a 5MP camera and a 1,400mAh battery, which should be good for a couple of days of usage. The ZTE Skate also packs the latest phone-centric Android version and the big 4.3” WVGA screen was reportedly pretty good as was the build quality.
There’s no info on when the ZTE Skate will be available.
